IELTS is fast becoming the leading standardized English Language test globally, jointly managed by the University of Cambridge and the British Council.
It is recognized as the standard English proficiency test for University and Polytechnic admission in New Zealand, with some institutions looking for scores as high as 7.0 on this challenging examination.
Al Oruba’s IELTS Preparation Course Sharjah is a course for intermediate to advanced learners, which develops skills and strategies for both English language and for IELTS success. The course aims to prepare students with the skills and strategies needed to undertake the IELTS test with confidence and succeed in achieving the score you require.
The course will give you intensive practice in each module, making sure you know exactly how to make best use of your time. You will do practice tests in each skill under exam conditions and specialist teachers will give you feedback on your performance to help you improve.

The part time IELTS preparation courses are designed to help people achieve the General Training or Academic IELTS band score they need. Our highly qualified and experienced IELTS tutors provide students with knowledge of the exam format, how to approach different question types and practical exam skills and strategies. The courses are designed for people whose English proficiency is sufficient to achieve their desired band score, but who want to improve their IELTS test-taking techniques. IELTS Preparation Classes
IELTS preparation at Languages International is available as a full-time course or as part of a full-time course with English for University, General English or English for Business. If you are planning to go on to further study in New Sharjah after your English course, we strongly recommend our English for University course combined with IELTS Coaching Classes.
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
IELTS is recognized as the preferred language requirement for entry to academic courses by all institutions of further and higher education in the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand. It has recently been adopted by the majority of prestigious Canadian universities and is currently being promoted as a screening device in the United States of America.
IELTS is jointly managed by the British Council, the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES), and IDP Education, Australia.
In addition to the score for overall language ability, ELTS provides a score for each of the four skills (Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking). The score are reported on a nine band scale. Total Test Time: 2 hours 45 minutes.
Most universities and colleges in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and USA accept an overall band score of 6.0 or 6.5 for entry to academic programs of study.
The British Council conducts a testing session twice a month. Special test sessions can be arranged for particular sponsors or institutions.

Examination Structure and Methodology:
Listening 30 Minutes
- Social or transactional conversation (2 speakers)
- Talk or speech on social needs (1 speaker)
- Conversation in educational context (2-4 speakers)
- Talk or lecture on topic of general interest (1 speaker)
Academic Reading 60 Minutes
- Topics of general interest
- Non-specialist articles or extracts from books, journals, magazines and newspapers
- Detailed logical arguments
Academic Writing 60 Minutes
- 150-word report, describing or explaining a table or diagram
- 250-word essay, responding to written opinion/problem
